Dan Cordero has coached and mentored generations of Carpinteria athletes through his many and varied contributions to Carpinteria High School Athletics over the past 44 years.

A long-time youth coach, Dan served as a spotter for the announcer at Warrior football games for 34 years and was an active member of the CHS Booster Club while his children attended CHS. Dan eventually joined the CHS junior varsity football staff, coaching alongside his son-in-law Chris for 12 years, and seeing several grandsons go through the program. He served as an assistant coach for two Alumni Football games, was the football equipment manager from 2018 to 2021 and participated in the Warrior Football Camp and Tuesday Night Lights programs from 2010-2018.

Dan served as the girls varsity basketball coach from 1984 to 1990, and coached the junior varsity squad from 1982 to 1983. Proving that the Warriors can always count on him to fill an essential role, Dan has been the ticket taker and official greeter at CHS volleyball and basketball games for the last 25 years.

Always willing to serve and help the Warrior community, Dan offers a friendly smile, warm welcome and clever conversation to CHS students, alumni, fans and opponents.

A U.S. Marine Corp veteran, Dan has been a resident of Carpinteria since 1968. He and his wife Barbara, raised five children, all of whom participated in Warrior athletics and graduated from Carpinteria High School. Together, they have 14 grandchildren and two great grandchildren, many of them CHS Warriors as well.
