David Medina was a two sport letterman for the Warriors, playing both football and baseball during his time at Carpinteria High School. On the gridiron, David was part of an impressive offensive and defensive line that was instrumental in leading the Warriors to two of four-straight appearances in the CIF Inland Conference Finals.

In 1986, the Warriors advanced to the CIF Finals for the first time since 1979, falling to Valley Christian of Cerritos 7-10. David earned All Tri-Valley League First Team honors as an offensive lineman and was selected as the TVL Defensive Player of the Year. He was also named to the All Santa Barbara County and All CIF Inland Conference teams as a defensive lineman.

As a senior, David co-captained the Warriors to an undefeated 14-0 season. The 1987 team defeated Tehachapi 27-0, taking home the CIF Inland Conference Championship. David was named CIF Inland Conference player of the year as a lineman, a remarkable accomplishment. He earned First Team All Tri-Valley League honors as a defensive lineman, was named the Tri-Valley League Offensive Player of the Year, and was again named to the All Santa Barbara County Team.

In addition to the TVL and SB County awards, David was selected as the 1987-88 Santa Barbara Athletic Round Table Athlete of the Year for Football and was selected as an alternate for the 1988 Shrine Game on the offensive line. The Santa Barbara News Press also named David to the Football Team of the Decade for the 1980s.

After graduating from CHS, David went on to play football at Santa Barbara City College for two seasons, earning All Western State Conference First Team honors as a defensive lineman in 1988 and Honorable Mention honors in 1989. He then transferred to Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, where he earned his B.S. in Business Administration-Finance.

David currently serves as an accountant for the Santa Barbara County Fire Department and resides in Carpinteria with his wife Jennifer and two sons, Ben and Nathan.
